In the months of January and February 2025, North East Network (NEN) facilitated exposure trips for its trained women leaders to the One Stop Centres (OSC) and Police Stations (PS) in the East Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills districts. This initiative included 12 women from the Survivors Group in Mawbah, 10 women from the Madanrting Women’s Group in East Khasi Hills, and 19 women from the Farmer Group in Laitkseh, West Khasi Hills.
The primary objective of this visit was to familiarise women with the services provided by these departments so that they can seek support when needed. Through direct interaction with staff and officers, participants gained insight into the procedures, laws, and social protection schemes related to gender-based violence (GBV) against women and girls.
This exposure trip aimed to strengthen the connection between grassroots women and service providers, fostering a more informed and responsive network to address issues of gender-based violence and support survivors more effectively.
