On 16th January 2025, North East Network (NEN) organised an exposure trip to the Iatylli Eco-Camp in Rohbah, South West Khasi Hills District (SWKHD), with the aim of promoting women’s participation in land-related decision-making and strengthening rural livelihoods.
Participants included members of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) and seven traditional heads from villages surrounding Dom Marwein in Eastern West Khasi Hills District (EWKHD). The visit facilitated a meaningful exchange of knowledge, where the Iatylli Eco-Camp team shared their experiences on community-led eco-tourism initiatives.
Discussions also covered the types of support available from the government for communities interested in developing eco-tourism or tourism-based ventures in their regions. The visit provided valuable insights and inspiration to the participants, encouraging community-driven efforts for sustainable development.
