A one-day workshop on Understanding different Gender Identities and Sexual Orientations was organised on 20 January 2023 by NEN for 5 districts of Assam (Kamrup (R), Golaghat, Darrang, Udalguri, Dhemaji). Arpana Choudhury, Founder of Xobdo and a queer rights activist facilitated the session on understanding different gender identities from a non-binary perspective. The workshop was designed to build an understanding of the issues of the LGBTQIA+ community and the challenges faced by them. The session sparked many conversations around the topic of ignorance of society towards the community and the participants came up with personal stories on the issue.
