Workshop with peer leaders on Development of Community Seed Banks, Seed Management & Storage: Assam

On 18 and 19 January 2023, NEN Assam organized a two day workshop on 'Development of Community Seed Banks, Seed Management & Storage' as a part of 'Building Transformational Leadership - Towards Equitable and Sustainable Change'. 45 women peer leaders from five districts (Kamrup-rural, Golaghat,Darrang, Udalguri, Dhemaji) participated in this workshop. Resource person Seno Tsuhah, Advisor NEN and Nenterprise, conducted the two day workshop and trained the women on issues of-

1. The local food system and the global politics of food and seed. 
2. Importance of Community Seed Banks and role of women as knowledge holders.
3. The resource person Seno had trained the participants on agro biodiversity mapping and ways of resource mobilization for the establishment of seed banks.
