- The 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence 2022 under the global theme “UNiTE! Activism to end violence against women and girls” was observed by NEN, Nagaland along with the community members. Joining the global campaign, North East Network (NEN) Nagaland organised a series of events across Nagaland, to voice out and address the issue of VAWG that prevails in our. society. With the campaign focus on bringing together diverse stake-holders and create awareness on Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) through Personal Safety Education Programme (PSEP) at various communities across the state; Shamator Town, Leangkonger, Sangphur and Yakor village of Shamator District; Runguzu Nasa, Chozuba village, Ruzazho, Phuhgi,Thurutsuswu and Chizami Village of Phek District.
With the intention to raise issues on unscrutinized subjects such as Gender Based Violence with community people and build collective voice and action in ending VAWG. NEN was able to reach out to 486 community members consisting of young children, youths, mothers and community leaders. The campaign kicked-off at Chizami on 25th November taking on the journey of awareness campaigns to different locations and culminated on 10th December at Shamator.
