As per official figures, the total number of domestic violence cases reported from March 23, 2020, after the COVID-19 lockdown was 90. Meanwhile, the total number of cases of crimes against women which was reported before the Meghalaya State Commission for Women during 2020 is 114. The number of unreported incidents go way higher.
