NEN Assam in collaboration with Assam Police organised a sensitisation workshop on ‘Women’s Safety in the Workplace and Legal Remedies’ with 70 female police personnel from ranks ranging from Sub-Inspector, Police Constable, Jr. Assistant, Home guard and Assistant Commissioners on 18th March, 2018.
Similar workshop was also organised in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on 5th April 2018. 40 female employees of BSNL were empowered on gender issues and laws.
The main issues covered in these workshops were:
• The historical background of Sexual Harassment of women at workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act 2013, (SHWWP Act)
• Different forms of sexual harassment of women at workplace and Legal Remedies
