A dialogue amongst stakeholders was organised towards Addressing Sexual Violence against Women and Children in Meghalaya on May 25th, 2018 at Hotel Poinisuk, Laitumkhrah. Representatives from Government, Non Government and CSWO shared their roles and challenges in addressing Sexual Violence. Departments and organisations who presented were State Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR), Directorate of Health Services, Police Department, District and Sessions Court, Directorate of Social Welfare, Shillong Press Club, TUR, Indian Institute of Public Health (IIPH), Faith Foundation and Lamjingshai. The need for taking up preventive measures through changing mindsets towards the issue was highlighted during the discussion. The Programme facilitated a way forward to strengthen the intersectoral coordination amongst the Stakeholders in Meghalaya.
