NEN research report on “Enquiry into the status of women in Nagaland” was launched by Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) chairperson Temsula Ao on 7th October, 2016 at Hotel East Gate, Kohima. The research was carried out in 3 districts covering 6 villages in Nagaland, between January 2014–March 2016.The objective of the research was to make an enquiry into the status of women in diverse socio-cultural contexts in rural Nagaland, to create a valid evidence of the main issues of gender discrimination/ violence faced by women in the personal and public spheres, and to advocate for policy change and future interventions.
