In observance of The International Day Of Rural Women 2022, North East Network organized a three days programme along with the rural women of Meghalaya in different districts.
Day one was celebrated by organising a "Farmers Meet"in Rangthong Village SWKH district. In which a few games were organised like Football for women, Tug of war and musical chairs to bring women together for some celebration and good time, a gathering to celebrate women.
A "Fete" was organized in Thangsning Village East Khasi Hills district. In which a few games were installed like car race, aim and strike, fishing, and others to engage women to have some leisure time. A food stall from the Nepali women's group shillong was set up and their authentic Nepali food was shared with the rural women, which showed solidarity amongst these women. A jumble sale for women's wear and children was put up, which really attracted many women and they enjoyed their time.
And on the Day of the International Day of Rural Women 2022, a "Farmers Market" was held in Savio Hall, Shillong to bring together the farmers to showcase and market their produce. It was a platform to exchange ideas, knowledge and food. Farmers were given exposure and a market was created for various produce that they have.
