NENterprise – Chizami Weaves: A Sustainable Livelihood Project

NENterprise – Chizami Weaves works with around 600 weavers from Chizami and 14 units (towns/villages) in Phek district and Kohima Town. The project aim to promote the textile weaving tradition of Naga-women, ensure a sustainable source of income for the women weavers who are also farmers, and to enhance weavers’ economic, social and cultural rights of women. The hand-woven products of Chizami Weaves are sold at the NEN Chizami, NEN Guwahati and NEN Kohima stores, exhibitions and melas, craft stores in Metros, and through individual entrepreneurs across India.
