The video shoot on the craftswomen of Kynrud was a organised by NEN to document, in video form, the work and products of the craftswomen of Kynrud village. The video shoot, editing and production was done by Nomads Shillong, a Shillong based production company.
The video was uploaded to YouTube and titled “Crafting a New Dawn”. It was shot on the 2nd and 3rd of March, 2022. The video was filmed because NEN realised the importance of the craftswomen’s work. It is important from a perspective of culture and tradition, as well as being important from the perspective of livelihood and entrepreneurship of women in rural areas using thier talent and abilities learnt in the community itself. The women of Kynrud show a remarkable ability to create a living using only what is available to them, and are an example of a community coming together to create a decent living.
