Formation of Join Action Committee of Dom Marwein Area West Khasi Hills District, Dom Marwein is an abandon plot of land that belongs to the Marwein Clan of Umkrem Village, in the area many illegal activities take place that made the women of the area take matter into their own hand by collaborating with North East Network to form a Joint action committee with members from 6 Villages and the support of the local Dorbar and the Clan themselves. The JAC under the facilitation of NEN have decided that they will start responsible Tourism in the area, promoting it and providing livelihood opportunities to the people of the village under strict rules and regulations that should be followed by all. The JAC has taken full responsibility in taking care of the place.
