North East Network Shillong organized a 3 Day Advanced Gender Training from the 14th – 16th of June, 2016 at Moreau Institute of Integral Training and Research Society, Shillong. The Resource persons were from SWAYAM, a woman’s rights based organization in Kolkata. The objectives of the training were – (i) to develop a Gender Friendly Perspective, (ii) Gain an in-depth understanding on Gender Concerns, Gender Equity and Equality and the Process of Gender Mainstreaming. The participants were representatives of various women organization in Shillong, civil society organization, lawyers and members of Women’s Commission and Social Welfare Department. The training equipped the participants with knowledge and skills to enable them to dissemination gender awareness in the State and work towards achieving gender equality in the State.
