The first meeting of the local complaint committee (local committee) formed by the Kamrup Metro district administration under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (SHWWP) (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, was held here on Thursday, 12 July 2023. The meeting was presided over by the Executive Director of North East Network, Anurita Pathak Hazarika. She also facilitated a sensitisation programme on the SHWWP Act for all the members. The sensitisation included understanding issues of sexual harassment of women in the workplace, the role of local committees, complaint procedures, inquiry procedures, duties of the employer, etc.
