As part of NEN’s work in enhancing addressal and redressal mechanisms and support to women and children facing violence and to enable Women Collectives formed by NEN to carry out their work and showcase produce, NEN, Meghalaya has identified one Community Support Centre in Madanryting, East Khasi Hills District and one in Nongshillong, Eastern West Khasi Hills District.
The Centres were launched during the 16 Days of Activism 2022, on the 25th of November, 2022 and 8th of December 2023 respectively.
The Headmen of the respective localities inaugurated the Centres in the presence of NEN’s out-reach workers, Seng Kynthei of the locality and neighboring localities, and Women Collectives.
These Centres will be utilized for providing emotional support to women survivors’ of violence, skill enhancement training of Women Collectives and showcasing their produce, and also collaborative activities with State and Non-State agencies.
