In collaboration with FICCI FLO – Northeast Chapter, through their flagship initiative Project Dosti, North East Network is initiating a beautiful journey of digital learning. Project Dosti, envisioning Digital Literacy for All, began with a simple belief that when young people get access to technology and guidance, they find new ways to learn, dream and move forward. By setting up computer classes and supporting digital learning , the project is helping create more learning spaces where young minds can feel curious and confident.

Project Dosti is deeply connected to the community through our Gramin Mahila Kendras. In Golaghat (Doigrung), Kamrup (Sarpara) and Darrang (Debananda), weekend classes now bring children and young people together every Saturday and Sunday. The learners are in the age bracket from 13 to 18 years, belonging to marginalised/disadvantaged socio-economic groups from rural areas. These spaces are filled with learning and discovery, as 60 students slowly build their comfort with computers and digital skills. At the same time, the 12-month Certificate Course is also creating opportunities for local tutors and community members to take on meaningful roles as educators and mentors, strengthening skills, confidence and leadership within the community itself.

This impact is reflected in the voices of those directly involved. Sharing his experience as a tutor, Amlan from Darrang district highlights how the Course has supported both teaching and personal growth:
“I am grateful to NEN and Project Dosti for creating a platform for teachers like us. The training helped me share my learning with students, and the stipend support made my involvement meaningful and sustainable. This experience has contributed to my personal growth and strengthened my connection with young people .” — Amlandeep Saharia, Darrang
What makes this collaboration special is that it brings everyone together- students, local tutors and community leaders to learn and grow side by side. Each lesson, each new skill and each small success adds to a stronger, more connected community.

For learners, the experience goes beyond classroom learning. Reflecting on her journey, Karishma Kalita from Darrang district shares how the programme helped her gain practical, real-world skills:
“I am truly grateful to be a part of this initiative. As a student, this training gave me valuable hands-on experience and exposure to areas like banking and social media. It helped me learn practical skills beyond textbooks. This experience has truly been insightful for students like me.” — Karishma Kalita, Darrang
As this journey continues, we look forward to seeing these learning spaces grow even more, where young people feel supported, valued and ready to shape their own futures, with NEN and Project Dosti walking alongside them every step of the way.
