Passing on tradition, culture, and yes of course promoting slow fashion is, in fact, ideal. Exhibiting culture sets us apart and this is what makes us unique and different from the rest and we at North East Network organized a 5-day residential weaving training held at North EastNetwork Resource Center, Chizami from the 9th of November to the 13th of November, 2020. A total of 14 participants from Enhulumi, Chizami, Chizami Town, Sumi, Mesulumi, and Thetsumi took part in this training.
The training was centered around weaving fabric for pouches, where most of these young participants were having their first hands-on experience with weaving – learning basic technical weaving processes and designing motifs.
Apart from the practicals, sessions on Health and Nutrition, Menstrual Hygiene, and Sexual Abuse were also held with the participants, which were facilitated by North East Network Team, Nagaland.
