North East Network (NEN) and Gramya Resource Centre for Women (GRCW), Hyderabad, supported the Nagaland Mahila Kisan Aadhikar Manch (MAKAAM) in organizing a 2-day capacity building workshop on Women Farmer Rights in Kohima on 29th and 30th April 2019. The aim of the workshop was understanding concepts of agro-ecology and sustainability, exploring and indentifying women farmers’ issues and challenges, and finally developing an action plan for MAKAAM Nagaland. Dr. V Rukmini Rao, Member of the National Facilitation Team of MAKAAM and Executive Director of Gramya Resource Centre for Women, Hyderabad facilitated the process that was attended by 22 participants consisting of MAKAAM members, representatives from North East Initiative Development Agency (NEIDA), Rongmei Baptist Association (RBA), Zynorique Society, FPO Kohima, Youth Action for Rural Development (YARD), Sustainable Development Forum Nagaland (SDFN), Chakhesang Women Welfare Society (CWWS), WALO and NEN.
