During the three-day workshop held from October 27th to October 29th, 2023, NEN’s youth collective embarked on a transformative journey towards compassionate natural farming with Spread NE . The workshop emphasized the importance of identifying, conserving and cultivating local resources. Throughout the workshop, participants immersed themselves in learning trials and hands-on training sessions. These activities aimed to familiarise our youth with the knowledge and skills needed to create a diverse homestead food forest that yields low-volume but high-value wellness products.
The workshop included comprehensive training sessions, such as the creation of seed bombs, bamboo biochar, no-till bio-intensive raised beds, and the development of agrotourism initiatives and community enterprises. Another highlight of this workshop was an informative trail through the picturesque Kolongpur village, providing our youth with profound insights into community forests, biodiversity conservation, and organic farming. This experience deepened their understanding of the intricate connections between nature, natural farming, and the well-being of local communities.
