Times are trying but we need to stay put. Searching for that silver lining and praying in who we believe in. This pandemic and the lockdown that came with it have led to the rise of domestic violence and crimes against children in the state. However, not all hope is gone just yet. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel and in our case, Suman Rai is that ray of hope. She is an outreach worker from Paltan Bazaar, Shillong. She has been working relentlessly in imparting awareness on “safe and unsafe touch” with children and domestic violence against women. Needless to say of who front liners are, our outreach workers will not go unnoticed in this unfortunate phase and we applaud their ever-ready spirit to venture and impart knowledge to the ones in need.
