A 3-day workshop was conducted with a total of 30 youth from Dhemaji, Darrang, Udalguri, Kamrup and Golaghat districts from 14 to16 July 2022 . The workshop covered topics on deconstructing sex & gender, unpacking gender roles, understanding patriarchy, understanding gender based violence, patriarchy and climate crisis. Gaurab Talukdar, ex-fellow, Green Hub facilitated a session on understanding the issue of climate crisis in the global and local context, its impact on life and livelihood and role of youth in building a resilient future followed by developing a plan of action at the individual level. District wise plan for youth groups was chalked out. It includes task based activities for the next 6 months such as tree planting, establishing community garbage bin, organising street play, graffiti art and puppetry on early marriage. As an outcome of the workshop, they have approached their respective Gaon Panchayats and moved forward in agreement to collect all waste/garbage in one place in the village and procure a notification and from Deputy Commissioner to place a community garbage bin in the village.
