On 8th December 2022, North East Network organized a Street Play at Khyndailad, Police Bazar with an aim to raise awareness about gender-based violence against women and as part of an observation of the 16 days of Activism against Gender-based Violence in collaboration with the School of Social Work, Martin Luther Christian University and the band “Ki Rangdajied”. The total number of participants was 60.
The programme was attended by the band “Ki Rangdajied” who performed Phawar as part of mobilizing the crowd, the School of Social Work Martin Luther Christian University who performed a role play on violence against women and children and five NEN staff. The programme started with a welcome address from the Project Associate Eureca Voleen Lyngdoh Tron followed by a keynote address from the Programme Associate Lambinus Raliang. The band Ki Rangdajied performed the Phawar right after the keynote address which was followed by a street play on Violence against Women and Children. The crowd was kept entertained by the band “Ki Rangajied” who performed a few phawar to spread the message and awareness against gender-based violence.
