With regard to the research study, “Survivors’ Experience of Shelter Homes”, NEN Meghalaya organised a consultation meeting with various stakeholders on May 23, 2018 to discuss on issues related to addressing violence against women and the rehabilitative services that is provided to the women in the State. One of the objectives of the meeting was to identify the gaps and advocate for improvements.
Different stakeholders, such as the DSWOs, NGOs and the Social Welfare Department participated in the discussion. The consultation meeting provided a platform to discuss about creating well informed proactive rehabilitative services with the available resources to improve the well being of the survivors of violence. Furthermore, the meeting had also given the space to networking and collaboration among the stakeholders in creating the better place for the survivors of violence.
