North East Network (NEN) has been training the Meghalaya Police to deal with cases of violence against women in a sensitive way. On 19 & 20 September 2011, a batch of 97 recruited constables of the Un-Armed Branch were trained by Inspectors and Sub-inspectors of Meghalaya Police who in turn have been previously trained by NEN on the issue of Gender and Violence against Women at Police Training School, Shillong.
